Pentaxim Vaccine is a prescription medicine having combination of medicines that is used in the treatment of diphtheria, influenza (flu), pertussis, tetanus, and polio. It helps in developing immunity. It protects the body against future infections.

Pentaxim Vaccine injection must be administered under the supervision of a healthcare professional. You should not take it if you have any known allergy from this injection.

The most common side effects include loss of appetite, nervousness, irritability, unusual crying, sleepiness, vomiting, injection site redness, swelling, pain, and induration, fever, diarrhea, insomnia, and sleep disorder. If any of these side effects or any other symptoms which you think are because of this medicine persist for a longer duration, please inform your doctor.

Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or suffering from any other diseases. This medicine is safe to use in breastfeeding mothers and patients suffering from liver and kidney diseases. It is advised to avoid alcohol while taking this medicine.

Tetanus is a serious bacterial infection that affects the nervous system and causes muscles throughout the body to become stiff and tighten. Pentaxim Vaccine helps prevent tetanus infection. It helps the immune system to produce antibodies to fight against tetanus infection. However, it does not provide lifelong protection. A booster shot is also recommended. Diphtheria is a bacterial infection that causes pain and swelling in the throat. This might cause difficulty in breathing. It might also damage the heart, kidneys and nerves. 3. In Prevention of Influenza (flu):
Influenza is a viral infection that attacks your respiratory system (nose, throat and lungs) and is often called the flu. Pentaxim Vaccine protects against influenza virus and is generally effective within two weeks of administration.
